Ryan W. Dorton, B.Comm., C.A.
Ryan joined the firm in 1998 after receiving his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He has acquired substantial experience in dealing with owner-managed businesses and large corporations in a wide variety of industries. Ryan has been a member of the JMH & Co. LLP Assurance committee for a number of years and continues to dedicate time to the ever changing standards facing the accounting and assurance industries. This role will continue to expand as Canadian GAAP prepares to converge with International Financial Reporting Standards in the near future.
Ryan has lived in Medicine Hat since 1998 and is happy to call Medicine Hat home. Ryan enjoys spending time in the local community with his wife Melissa (also a Chartered Accountant with Johnston Morrison Hunter & Co. LLP) and his two children. They enjoy the many extracurricular activities their children have already brought into their lives.
The partnership has always had a commitment to Medicine Hat, Brooks and now Calgary local businesses. Ryan exemplifies this commitment through his past involvements with the United Way and the Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the Treasurer of the Board.
